At the Newport Folk Festival in 1965, a young Bob Dylan shakes up the folk music scene by going electric and hearing rock as the voice of a generation that defines one of the most transformative moments in 20th-century music. Scenes filmed up to and including the 1965 Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island, where Bob Dylan first performed to an audience on an electric guitar, were filmed in the seaside resort town of Cape May, New Jersey. Minimal compensation was required, given the resort’s commitment to its National Historic Landmark designation, as it features a concentration of Victorian architecture, as well as other 19th- and 20th-century architectural motifs.
